Zak Bagans is the host and lead investigator of the reality series “Ghost Adventures,” which presents examples of paranormal activity around the nation.

The two-story, desert-modern-design, semi-custom dwelling was constructed by Christopher Homes and is in a cul de sac in Boulder Ridge. It is feet. square 5,800 and has five bedrooms, six baths. Formerly, he was living in a loft near Jones Boulevard and the I-215 Beltway. A year and a half after purchasing it, he has set it on the marketplace for $2,499,000.

“I like to simply move around a lot. That’s just how I ‘m,” he said. “It’s a delightful neighborhood. I just like getting new things … cars, and switching out new houses. I think I’m part nomadic.”

As a student of the supernatural, he appreciates the untouched beauty of the surrounding place.

“It’s quiet here. You do not think you’re in Las Vegas. You think you’re in some exclusive resort. It is distinct in The Ridges. It is quite spiritual,” he said. He gestures behind his dwelling to the mountains. “Over here you’ve got the Red Rock (National) Conservation Area, and the overall energy this area gives off is quite cleansing and relaxing. As soon as you depart The Ridges, you are back in the hustle-bustle, but in here it’s really spiritual. I am attracted to that entire Red Rock area. I do not know if it is from the Paiute Indians that were there or merely the geographic aspect,” he said.

One of his favorite things about the house is the vanishing walls, which are all glass and disappear like pocket doors at several key entrance points. He gestured to the west: “This (fall) is now becoming the greatest time of Vegas.”

He zips around on his IO Hawk, a new “private motorized transporter” similar to a skateboard but turned 90 degrees. “It is the right house for it. I can go everywhere with it,” he said, at least on the first floor where there isn’t any carpeting.

His mom, Nancy Knapp, who is a local interior designer decorated the house.

Only off the front door, a complete bedroom and bath is used as his office. Framed prints of Grandpa Munster, Alfred Hitchcock and Dracula line the walls.

This room and the first floor have a barrel-vaulted ceiling made of tongue-and-groove wood, which is a pleasant attribute of desert contemporary homes, according to Erika Geiser, vice president of sales and marketing for Christopher Homes. She said this home is “Home Three” of their customization portfolio. In addition, it has a curved metal roof line visible from the exterior.

The entrance hall leads to open regions at the base of the stairs. Across the hall is an area, which was probably intended to be a dining room, with two sets of glass light fixtures that are modern floating in the center. A 400-bottle, climate-controlled, glass-enclosed wine room is adjoining.

An elegant powder room with a cabinet that was floating and a vessel sink is lined with dark chocolate brocade designed wallpaper, and a heavy velvet curtain trimmed with cloth matching the wallpaper separates from the sink the commode.zak house 1

The second floor houses three bedrooms and a media room with a 100-inch screen and leather seating for 10, situated right above the master bedroom. The best attribute of the room is an outside balcony with view and fire pit of the pool and mountains.

Directly below the media room, the master bedroom includes a couch seating area with a fireplace. For direct access, the walls open up to behind blackout drapes that are rich to the outdoor pool and deck area. The master bath includes steam shower, cracked dressing tables and soaker tub, an expansive closet and a little, private wall -enclosed outside space appropriate for a meditation or yoga room.

The dwelling’s modern touches contain an entry hallway with a floating open wood cupboard and a stairway lined with glass panels and wire roping. Upstairs hallway and bedroom windows are at a high level, as typically seen in modern homes.

The kitchen is well-equipped with Viking appliances, a butler’s pantry, espresso cupboards and an island. It really is open to a family room with concrete-trimmed fireplace and out to the rear patio space.zak house 2

The house has an expansive backyard that features an outside kitchen and geometric-shaped pool and waterfall.

It really is surrounded by vacant lots that are being developed. An aerial photograph of the dwelling shows it’s on a corner lot that comes to a point on the side meeting with the street. If you are old enough to comprehend the reference to the board game Trivial Pursuit, this lot is one pie piece of the cake.

Explained Realtor Rob Jensen, who has the listing, most interior lots in The Ridges back up to enormous houses.

“Folks are seeking a view, which is probably a golf course lot, or privacy, and locating an interior lot that’s really private is challenging. This one offers solitude and lots of entertainment amenities “between the pool, kitchen and mini basketball court. A buyer with either kids or dogs would appreciate it,” he said.

Bagans mentioned he is beginning another series but wouldn’t elaborate on that. “Ghost Adventures” is filming at the end of September inside the old Riviera Hotel for an episode to run early next year.

Zak Bagans star ‘Ghost Adventures’, who is in his thirties, would like to settle down, he said, “But I can not meet the right woman. I have the inclination attract some quite intriguing women.”

When the house sells, he said, he doesn’t understand where he will buy next, but he is not in a hurry. “My career has been growing, and so right now this fits my lifestyle.”
